Support Retras: a new approach to motor rehabilitation

Abeille Assurances’s La Fabrique has selected Retras in the Health & Disability category. We need your support to make it to the finalists. Only the 10 most-supported projects in our category will be evaluated by the jury. It only takes 2 minutes (quick instructions at the bottom of the page). The La Fabrique competition supports entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions with environmental, social, and societal impact, particularly in healthcare. Every vote counts.


Retras is reinventing hand rehabilitation through artificial intelligence.


Retras was born from a deeply personal experience. After an accident in 2019, our founder went through the long process of hand and arm motor rehabilitation. One thing quickly became clear: between therapy sessions in clinics and rehabilitation centers, patients have very few motivating, accessible, and adapted tools to continue their rehabilitation effectively at home.


That is why Retras was created.

Our solution uses AI-powered motion analysis to support patients during their rehabilitation exercises directly from a smartphone or tablet. Using the device’s camera, Retras analyzes the movements performed and provides immediate corrective feedback (visual and audio) to help patients execute their exercises more accurately. The touchscreen also enables fine motor skills and handwriting exercises.

Our goal is simple: make self-rehabilitation more motivating, more accessible, and more effective.

Retras is designed in particular for people:

  1. recovering from a stroke (CVA),
  2. living with Parkinson’s disease,
  3. affected by neurological disorders,
  4. or dealing with traumatic or post-operative hand and arm injuries.

It is also a valuable tool for therapists, who can monitor patient progress and prescribe customized exercises. The application also integrates naturally into clinical practice.

The public vote is a crucial stage of the competition.


To qualify for the final, we must rank among the 10 most-supported projects in our category. Winners may receive up to €35,000 in funding, or even €45,000 for the Jury’s Favorite Award.


This support would allow us to accelerate the development of Retras by:

  1. further improving our motion analysis technology,
  2. continuing clinical trials and experimentation,
  3. developing new personalized exercises,
  4. and making the solution accessible to as many patients and healthcare professionals as possible.




A project with human, medical, and societal impact


Beyond the technology itself, Retras carries a strong mission: reducing inequalities in access to rehabilitation care.

Many patients live far from specialized rehabilitation centers or cannot benefit from sufficiently intensive support once they return home. Yet for neurological and motor disorders, consistency in performing exercises is essential for recovery and progress.


By facilitating home-based rehabilitation and remote follow-up by healthcare professionals, Retras helps to:

  1. strengthen patient autonomy,
  2. improve adherence to care protocols,
  3. reduce disruptions in rehabilitation pathways,
  4. and combat the isolation associated with disability.
